ALLERGY AND IMMUNOLOGY CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Allergy and Immunology Conditions We Treat

Seasonal and Environmental Allergies

Allergic rhinitis (hay fever), allergic conjunctivitis, and reactions to pollen, dust mites, pet dander, and mold. We provide comprehensive evaluation, identification of triggers through lab-based testing, and medication management with antihistamines, nasal sprays, and other allergy medications.

Asthma

Diagnosis and ongoing management of asthma including assessment of triggers, severity, and control. We prescribe inhalers including rescue inhalers and controller medications, and develop comprehensive asthma action plans tailored to your needs.

Eczema and Atopic Dermatitis

Treatment of eczema, atopic dermatitis, and other allergic skin conditions. We address triggers, provide topical and systemic treatment recommendations, and coordinate care with dermatologists when needed.

Food Allergies and Sensitivities

Assessment of suspected food allergies and food sensitivities. We can order lab-based IgE blood testing through local labs and provide guidance on trigger avoidance and emergency preparedness for serious allergies. We coordinate with allergists for in-person procedures when needed.

Immune System Disorders

Evaluation and management of immune dysfunction including recurrent infections, autoimmune-related symptoms, and immune deficiencies. We provide diagnostic guidance and coordinate care with specialists for conditions requiring in-person evaluation or procedures.

OUR APPROACH TO ALLERGY & IMMUNOLOGY CARE

Our Approach to Allergy & Immunology Care

Comprehensive Telehealth Consultation

Your allergy evaluation begins with a thorough telehealth consultation with Dr. Khan. We review your symptoms, triggers, family history, medical history, current medications, and impact on quality of life. This evaluation guides diagnostic testing recommendations and treatment planning.

Lab-Based Allergy Testing

We order IgE blood allergy panels and other lab-based testing through local laboratories like Quest Diagnostics or LabCorp. You get your blood drawn at the lab, and we review the results together via telehealth. This identifies specific allergic sensitivities without requiring in-person skin testing.

Medication Management

Dr. Khan prescribes and manages allergy medications including antihistamines (loratadine, cetirizine, fexofenadine), nasal corticosteroid sprays, leukotriene modifiers like montelukast, asthma inhalers, eczema treatments, and other allergy and immunology medications appropriate for telehealth management.

Mind-Body Integration

Our unique strength is integration with psychiatric care. Allergies, chronic inflammation, and immune dysregulation often impact mood, sleep, energy, and cognition. We work alongside our psychiatrists to address the bidirectional relationship between mental health and immune function.

Care Coordination for In-Person Services

Some allergy and immunology services require in-person procedures—skin testing, allergy shots (immunotherapy), patch testing, drug challenges, or spirometry. Dr. Khan provides telehealth consultation and coordinates referrals to local allergists for these procedures when needed, then continues medication management via telehealth.

What to Expect

Initial telehealth consultations with Dr. Khan are 60 minutes and include comprehensive allergy and immunology evaluation. Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes for medication adjustments and ongoing management. Cash pay rates are $200 for initial allergy evaluation and $100 for follow-up appointments. Lab-based allergy testing is ordered through your nearest Quest or LabCorp location and billed separately by the lab.
